CYFO COACHES

One of the essential functions of head and assistant coaches is to manage team communications with players and their families. A major function for all coaches is to provide a fun and safe environment for all athletes while teaching the fundamentals of football and cheerleading.

All CYFO Football & Cheer Coaches are required to have a yearly background check on file with the Inter County Football League (ICFL).

FOOTBALL COACHES

Every tackle football coach for CYFO is required to take part in a series of trainings and certification tests on an annual basis. Again, these are annual requirements. NO COACH is permitted to take part in organized team activities without successful completion of the certification.

CHEER COACHES

All cheer coaches are required to complete USA Cheer Athlete Protection Course which can be found here

BECOME A VOLUNTEER COACH

CYFO is always looking for quality youth head and assistant coaches who have a desire to give back to the game of football and cheer!

If you would like to volunteer your time and knowledge as a youth football or cheer head or assistant coach, please contact the league at [email protected]

COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide an enjoyable experience. Sports should be fun. Even if nothing else is accomplished, make certain everyone has fun.

Provide a safe experience. You are responsible for planning and teaching fundamentals in such a way that it minimizes risks of injuries. Safety is our top priority!

Teach basic skills. In becoming a coach, you take on the role of educator. You must teach all athletes the fundamental skills and strategies necessary for success in the sport of football and cheer.

You should expect to put in the dedicated time required to review plays, attend practices and game days.
